Selector Northern Ireland Special!

This week’s Selector is a Northern Ireland special celebrating Belfast Music Week and featuring the country’s best new music!

Goldierocks has live session tracks from Belfast trio Dutch Schultz and an interview with Yes Cadets before they head off on their European tour. Phil Kieran is in the mix and there’s some great tracks from the likes of Little Bear, Girls Names, Fighting With Wire, Defcon and Kab Driver. There really is some good music coming out of Northern Ireland at the moment!

Plus tonight, Friday 9th November, The Selector are hosting a listening party at Ollie’s Club on Waring Street in Belfast so that fans of the show in Northern Ireland can get together and hear this week’s special. Entry is free and the action kicks off at 5pm. All the details are in the flyer below!

H Hawkline In Session On The Selector!

Goldierocks has a lovely session from Welsh artist H Hawkline on The Selector on 31 August 2012.

His latest EP ‘Black Domino Box’ was co-produced by Gruff Rhys and released though independent label Trash Aesthetics.

The Selector Club Night will be back on 7th June with another great lineup: Eugene McGuinness + The Shutes + Saul Ashby. Plus DJs: Goldierocks, John Cranmer and Blessian.

EUGENE MCGUINNESS – Earning a modest name for himself as a singer songwriter since 2007, the domino artist has more than paid his dues, performing as part of Miles Kane’s band and releasing three accomplished record.

THE SHUTES – The Shutes are a four-piece from the Isle of Wight who make well-crafted indie-rock with psychedelic and surf flourishes. Their recent Echo of Love EP showcases a band with songs that demonstrate confidence and maturity.

SAUL ASHBY – The dashingly clean cut, guitar-toting Saul Ashby is firmly poised with both leather-booted feet to leap headlong into the tempestuous whirlwind of the industry.

The Selector & Time Out team up!

We are excited to announce that The Selector and Goldierocks are teaming up with Time Out Nite Sessions for a dj filled event at Queen Of Hoxton on 4th May!

In the rave basement, Bugged Out and Tiga favourite Matt Walsh (Clouded Vision) will be spinning a marathon set of disco-inflected techno with support from former Skull Juice DJ Alex Egan, while Goldierocks shakes her mane on the ground floor with plenty of forward-thinking UK bass and electronic sounds, joined by futuristic beatsmiths Gang Colours (Brownswood), Dauwd (Pictures Music) and the Time Out All Stars.

On last week’s Selector we had a beautiful session from Communion Records duo, Daughter. Their new EP The Wild Youth is out now. Also on the show Warp experimentalist Mira Calix  is in the mix and Goldierocks has loads of great new music including M.I.A, Portico Quartet and Hares.
