How Sound Affects The World!

8 Dec

Folded Wing Director Karen P wants to share an inspiring blog she came across through Angela Robson’s twitter. It’s called Sound Affects The World and is a blog for the audio charity whose aim is to link children across the world through audio. Young people share stories such as Aye Mon from Sheffield (pictured above) whose family originate from Burma. The charity have just been in Gambia so we look forward to hearing stories from there. Check out the blog here.

Jamie Cullum meets Kate Bush!

7 Dec

This week on his BBC Radio 2 show, Jamie Cullum conducted a very special rare interview with Kate Bush. The British singer-songwriter, musician and record producer tells Jamie about the jazz she loves and the story behind the track ‘Misty’ on her new album ’50 Words For Snow’.

In an intimate interview, the two musicians discuss the complex time signatures within ‘Misty’ and compare them to ‘Take Five’ by Dave Brubeck, before chatting about their different approaches to composition, and their mutual love of Billie Holliday and Steely Dan.

Listen to the show on BBC iPlayer till 13th December (available worldwide). Plus we have a clip of the interview here….(available in the UK only).
